Emotional & Mental Health Issues

Trauma, Loss & Early Experiences

Some experiences in life can be painful, confusing, or difficult to talk about. Therapy offers a safe space to explore these experiences at your own pace.

I work with:

  • Trauma
  • Difficult childhood experiences
  • Attachment and relationship difficulties
  • Loss and bereavement

Mental HealthAnxiety, Stress, Depression etc

Experiences such as anxiety, stress, depression, anger, PTSD, and intrusive thoughts can have a significant impact on daily life and emotional wellbeing. Therapy offers a confidential and supportive space where you can talk about how you are feeling, begin to make sense of what you are experiencing, and find ways to manage these difficulties.

NeurodiversityADHD, Neurodivergence & Dual Diagnosis

Neurodiversity includes experiences such as ADHD and other forms of neurodivergence, which can affect how a person thinks, feels, and experiences the world. Some people may also experience dual diagnosis, where mental health difficulties and neurodivergence exist together. Therapy offers a supportive space to explore these experiences, understand your strengths and difficulties, and think about ways of managing daily life in a way that works for you.

Emotional Struggles & Life Challenges

Personality Disorders, Eating Disorders, Self-Harm, Parenting & Career Issues, Shame & Guilt.

Some emotional difficulties can feel overwhelming, confusing, or difficult to manage alone. Experiences such as self-harm, eating difficulties, personality disorders, shame and guilt, and challenges related to parenting or career can have a significant impact on daily life and relationships. Therapy offers a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space where these difficulties can be talked about openly, and where we can begin to understand what is happening and think about how things can change.

Addiction & Recovery

  • Addiction can take many forms, including alcohol, drugs, gambling, pornography, food, or other behaviours that can begin to feel difficult to control. Often addiction is not just about the substance or behaviour itself, but about emotional pain, distress, trauma, or ways of coping that may have developed over time.
  • Therapy offers a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space to talk about addiction and recovery. Together, we can begin to understand what may sit beneath the addiction, explore triggers and patterns, and think about healthier ways of coping and managing difficult feelings.
  • I have a particular interest in working with addiction and recovery and have experience working with individuals who are struggling with alcohol and substance use, as well as those who may be in recovery and wish to understand themselves and their experiences more deeply.

Therapy can be helpful whether you are:

  • Currently struggling with addiction
  • Trying to stop or reduce use
  • In recovery
  • Attending AA/NA or other recovery services
  • Supporting a family member with addiction
  • Trying to understand the reasons behind addictive behaviours
  • Recovery is not always a straight line, and therapy can offer a space to think, reflect, and understand yourself without judgement.
